The campsite:
Camping Kostelec is a family campsite under Dutch management, with an informal atmosphere. It is located in South Bohemia, one of the most beautiful and popular regions of the Czech republic. Camping Kostelec (pronounced 'kostuhlech') lies on the outskirts of the small town of Kostelec, which falls under Jluboka Nad Vltavou, 9 miles (14 kilometers) away. The camping is situated on the south side of a hill, on a fair height of about 1580 feet (480 meters) above sea level. The camping can be reached easily through well-maintained roads and clear signs, and is only a day's drive away from the UK (approximately 690 miles (1100 kilometers) from London).

Size:
The campsite is about 5 acres (2 hectares) in size and offers seventy large places for tents and caravans alike. The entire premises covers approximately 44 acres (18 hectares), including a small private wood with all sorts of wild animals in it, and a small stream. Because of the height the campsite is situated at, the view is amazing.

Facilities::
The campsite provides sufficient, high quality sanitary facilities, including free showers. Also, there are washing machines, a tumble dryer, a clothes wringer and wash-places with free, warm water for small bits of laundry. For children, there is a hangout with darts, table tennis, a table shuffleboard, billiards and more. There are a playground and a small swimming pool outside in the courtyard. It is possible to rent a tour caravan or an appartment.

Shops and restaurants:
There is a small shop at the campsite providing the most essential provisions, a snack bar selling Dutch snacks, and cosy pavement cafés where you can enjoy food and drinks. Numerous drinks are sold including soda pop, (draught) beer and ice cream. In the town of Hluboka nad Vltavou (a 15 minute drive) there are super markets, banks, a postal office and outstanding restaurants. You can find large super markets and modern shopping malls in the city of Ceske Budejovice, at a distance of 12 miles (20 kilometers) from the campsite.

Holiday season:
The campsite is open to visitors from April 30th till September 15th. There are seasonal bargains in Spring and Autumn.
